Aola Vandergriff, American writer and New York Times bestselling author of twenty gothic and historical romance novels, was a voracious reader and prolific poet from childhood. She launched her writing career at seventeen by publishing a book of poetry, winning her accolades, prizes, and her own radio program. At the onset of WW II, she married a young soldier, Bill Vandergriff. His post-war job took them through several states while she focused on raising their six children, but she never stopped reading. As the children grew up, her long suppressed desire to write caught fire, beginning with the publication of 2500 articles and short stories. She eventually turned to novels, traveling to far away countries and continents to research her books. At home, she wrote while Bill built her an adobe hacienda in a haunted New Mexico canyon. Through all of life’s adventures, Aola continued to use the written word to bind her research with her imagination and create her beloved tales of danger and romance.
