About the Book

Could a frozen wasteland be concealing a deadly plot…?

1964

A small travel agency specialising in unusual tours organises a holiday in Spitsbergen, the strange Arctic outpost of Europe where Soviet Russians and Norwegians co-existed during Stalin’s day.

The tour is named ‘Peregrination 22’ after the agency owner, but it never makes it to the brochure because they fail to find a hotel to host the trip.

Out of work screen-writer Colin Panton is between jobs and gets involved with the travel agency.

He finds himself taking on the Arctic trip to meet with a German, Dr Bland, who has grand idealistic plans to build a youth camp in the area and who may be able to provide a hotel.

But when he arrives, Colin begins to suspect there may be something sinister behind the German’s ambitious plan, and he decides to investigate.

Gradually, Colin realises Bland’s interest in the youth, and the Arctic, is pointing to something horrific…

And after a gruelling trek across a frozen wasteland he uncovers a sinister secret hidden beneath the ice…
