Rachel McDonough is a teacher, actress, musician, and folk music historian/collector from New Jersey. She has been writing from a young age, writing and performing her first play, “Princesa Ratoncita”, for her fifth birthday. It received rave reviews from parents and fellow kindergarteners alike. She completed her first novella at thirteen and first novel at sixteen, releasing her first published novel, The Famous Flower of Serving Men, at twenty-one.  As a performer at the New York Renaissance Faire, the world of Tudor England has remained closer to home for her than one would expect of New Jersey native.

This sixteenth-century home-away-from-home provides the setting for her latest series depicting the drama and intrigue of the Tudor Dynasty through the eyes of a nonverbal lady-in-waiting. As a disabled author herself, Rachel seeks to highlight and represent various disabled perspectives in historical fiction.
