After obtaining a degree in history and secondary education at Brigham Young University, Jennifer taught history and government to her favourite group of people: teenagers. Her love of telling stories took her back to school, where she received an MFA in creative writing at Anglia Ruskin University. While in Cambridge, she began work on her first book, When the Yanks Came, a middle grade historical fiction novel inspired by her research as an undergrad.

Jennifer has long held a deep respect and love for the unheralded work of women and children during wartime. Her series with Sapere Books will focus on the silent yet essential labour of the female codebreakers at Bletchley Park.

There’s nothing Jennifer loves more than eating an entire chocolate pie, taking an afternoon nap with her cat, or cantering on a horse. She lives in Provo, Utah with her partner and four boys, where she finds solace in the shadows of the Wasatch Mountains.

You can learn more about Jennifer and her love of history and fiction on her website or her Instagram.
