Donna Gowland is a writer and teacher who lives by the seaside with her family and schnauzer dog. A lifelong lover of literature, Donna published her first poem while in junior school and has written prize winning poetry, short stories and non fiction (and is also an award winning singer and dancer*).
A keen interest in science as a child led Donna to scientific research on reanimation and Victorian science – a fear of blood prevented a promising scientific career. Instead, Donna turned her attention to fiction, discovering Mary Shelley’s seminal novel Frankenstein and devouring everything she could find about its writer. A love of murder mystery, Paris, and an endless fascination with the relationship between Mary and Percy Shelley created the Mary Shelley Investigations series!
