Carlo Gibbs is an exciting new author whose debut novel, Silver’s Phoney War, immerses the reader in the journey of a World War Two conscript, charting Oscar Silver’s experiences as he navigates the challenges of joining the Navy, steadily rises through the ranks and plays his part in some of history’s most explosive naval battles.

The Oscar Silver series is the product of a lifelong interest in World War Two naval history and extensive research. Carlo can often be found reading through diaries and official papers at historical archives, in his quest to bring the remarkable true stories of unsung heroes to life. He is currently working towards publishing the next two instalments of the Oscar Silver series: Silver’s Dunkirk and Silver’s Bismarck.

Born in Cambridge, Carlo now lives in the East End of London with his two children. He has held a varied career in public affairs, communications, and central government, and is currently working on small business policy.
