A man is wanted for murder. A man who looks like Richard Ross, drives a car like his, and was in the same place at the same time. It’s an open-and-shut case … isn’t it?

But Richard is innocent. He was only trying to get to the bottom of what his shifty colleague Athol Cosgrove was up to, so how has he found himself pegged as a criminal?

Conscientious at his job but plagued with guilt over a family tragedy, the mild-mannered accountant isn’t the kind of man anyone would suspect of murder. But after threatening to expose Cosgrove’s dodgy dealings, he quickly becomes entangled in a web of strange coincidences. Too strange to be purely coincidental, in fact…

Certain he’s being framed, Richard enlists the help of the police. But even they seem suspicious of him, and as the net tightens around him Richard’s desperate attempts to clear his name only implicate him further.

With his life in tatters and his nerves stretched to breaking point, he sinks into alcohol-soaked paranoia … and even begins to doubt his own memory.

And as he’s pushed ever closer to breaking point, could he find himself capable of the unthinkable after all?
